The whole world has been engulfed by environmental crisis. If nothing is done things are going to spiral out of control. If everyone decides to go green and make eco friendly lifestyle changes, then we would all be in a much better position. Being an integral part of the business industry, franchising has also been enfolded by this rising concern.
According to me, ‘Go Green’ should be the motto of the present generation including the business world. A few industries like Dry-cleaning franchise industry has already started the mission of going green. Many of these companies apply eco-friendly liquid carbon dioxide based solutions that are not only safer and less poisonous, but also gentler on fabrics. This trend of ‘going green’ is gradually picking up pace as other industries in franchising like cartridge, food are also part of the league now.
We can observe that the retail franchises have also adopted this slogan in a big way. Most of the renowned brands are doing their window displays with green. These days retail franchisors as well as franchisees are emphasising on making the customers aware of the need of going green.
One can help in this hour at all levels, at home or in offices. This can be done by not switching lights unnecessarily, switching off the fans and computers when not in use, encouraging staff to reuse paper for printing, by organising car-sharing schemes for employees coming from similar place to save fuel.
