Mystery shopper? or, consultant??

So there's the constant debate, should mystery shoppers only report what they observed at the store? Or should they also have a hand in suggesting improvement options? The latter brings on the aspect of accountability in the mystery shopping provider. If you're telling me what you observed, why not also tell me what you'd like to observe!

Change!

A mystery shopper plays a vital role in change, and hence innovation. Though there is a lot of talk in management circles about the need to be innovative, and creative, there is a huge resistance to change I have found in my experience in different industries. And this resistance is across levels mind you; from the foot soldiers to the managers, to the heads of the organization. It takes a lot of mental discipline to overcome this resistance. Why are we so resistant to things that could essentially help us do things better, faster, greener, more efficiently and more effectively?
